Capitals send down three to Hershey for all-star break

The vice president and general manager of the Washington Capitals, George McPhee, announced earlier today that they were assigning three players to Hershey. The Caps have sent down forwards Mathieu Perreault and Jay Beagle and goaltender Braden Holtby to the Hershey
Bears going into the all-star break.
Beagle has played 19 games with the Capitals this year logging 2 goals. Perreault has played 24 games and scored 8 points for the team (5-goals, 3-assists). Both of these forwards have been up with the Caps for the majority of the past 2 months.
Holtby was in the net for the Caps three games in a row before this past loss to the Thrashers, only allowing 1 goal each contest. He has been in net a total of 8 games this year winning 4 of them. Braden Holtby will also be allowed to partake in the AHL all-star festivities this coming weekend.
These roster moves have occurred partly because of the all-star break, and also players coming off injuries. Matt Bradley skated in his 1st game in almost a month Wednesday night vs. the Thrashers. Alex Semin is also predicted to come back from his lower-body injury next week putting the two AHL forwards in a tough spot. One thing is for sure, this will not be the last time we see any of these three players in a Capitals sweater this season.
