Caps vs. Lightning Preview

The Caps face-off against the Lightning tonight in possibly the biggest divisional game of the season. If the Caps win they will draw closer to Tampa trailing only 3 points, but if they fail the Caps will be in a 7 point hole. The positives going in tonight are the defense and goal tending of the Capitals. They have only allowed 37 goals in the last 20 games. However the offense has only scored 52 goals in 26 games.

The Caps and Lightning have faced off 4 times this year splitting the season series 2-2. Tampa bay has won the last two thanks to mid-season pick up Dwayne Roloson. The Lightning have won 6 straight opposed to the Caps losing 3 straight. The caps have to crash the net, and score some goals to aggravate Tampa's impressive home record this year.

Alex Semin is not returning tonight and he has had much success against this divisional foe this year. He has logged 2 hatricks in back to back games vs the Lightning. Hopefully Semin will return to the lineup soon; we sure could've used him tonight. Expect to see Varly in the nets; puck drops at 7:30. Rock the Red!!!
